Preparation
- Before the test, drink 2-3 glasses of fluids and do not urinate for 2 hours before the test.

Description of the study
Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) is an examination method that allows accurate evaluation of the prostate gland (prostate). The image of the gland is obtained by inserting an ultrasound transducer into the rectum. The examination is performed in a side-lying position. The patient feels it similar to a per rectum examination by a urologist.

- Accurately determining the size of the prostate,
- assessment of inflammatory changes,
- Searching for and evaluating tumor foci.
