Description of the study

Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) is an examination method that allows accurate evaluation of the prostate gland (prostate). The image of the gland is obtained by inserting an ultrasound transducer into the rectum. The examination is performed in a side-lying position. The patient feels it similar to a per rectum examination by a urologist.
